On August 3, 2013 ten credit unions competed in the 2013 XDI / Credit Union Chili Challenge held at the Del Mar Racetrack. They competed for trophies, bragging rights and a total of $10,000 in prize money that was donated to the winners' charities of choice.
The 1st place trophy, top bragging rights and $5,000 charity prize money was won by Pacific Marine CU and team Chilis-a-Blazin’ led by Lynette Chubb. By winning 1st Place in XDI’s competition, Lynette qualified to cook in the International Chili Society’s World's Championship Chili Cookoff – Home Style Division.
Additional trophies, plaques and prize money were awarded to: 1st United Services CU for 2nd place and People’s Choice award, USE CU took 3rd place, Chevron Valley CU won Best Booth and Best Showmanship went to OE Federal CU.
